Think of these four habits: move, eat, drink, and use the bathroom. Moving generates heat, eating gives energy, staying hydrated supports temperature regulation, and going to the bathroom helps the body hold onto warmth. (In French we call them the "4 Bs"!)

How can I help my child stay warm outside?

Yes. If a participant needs to withdraw for medical reasons, a full refund of the remaining sessions may be granted with proof from a healthcare professional.

Can I cancel my registration for medical reasons?

We recommend layered, weather-appropriate clothing, with a change of clothes as needed. The goal is for your child to stay dry, warm, and free to move. More detailed guidelines will be sent in the welcome document before the program begins.

How should I dress my child for rain and cold?

RL-24 receipts are available through the Amilia registration platform. To receive an RL-24 for eligible programs, you'll need to enter the parent's social insurance number during registration (you can choose to have your SIN masked).

Do you issue RL-24 tax receipts?

For programs that are harder to reach by public transit, a carpooling link will be included in your welcome documentation. If you haven't found a way to get to the program, write to us at least 3 days in advance. We can't make any guarantees, but we'll do our best to help.

Do you offer carpooling or transportation help?

Yes. A $50 administrative fee applies to each cancelled registration.

Are there administrative fees for cancellations?

Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before the start of the day and pick up your child no more than 15 minutes after it ends. Fees may apply for repeated late pick-ups.

What time can we drop off and pick up our child?

During certain sessions, we invite Kanien'kehá:ka knowledge keepers. These moments may include stories, lessons on culture, language and history, games, or other cultural practices tied to the land.

Do some of your programs include Indigenous knowledge?

Yes. We collaborate with schools and other educational settings depending on the project, the group, and team availability. Write to us to talk it over.

Do you work with high schools, CEGEPs, or other educational settings?

For weekend programs, no refund is given for weather-related cancellations, but a make-up day will be offered. For weekday programs, cancelled days are refunded.

Y a-t-il un remboursement si une journée est annulée à cause de la météo?

Yes! You can participate in a trial day before registering your child for the full program. Write to us and we'll get back to you with a date.

Can we try a trial day before committing?

Our approach is rooted in cultivating a deep relationship with nature, with community, and with oneself. Being outdoors builds independence, resilience, well-being, and a sense of belonging to the living world.

What is your educational approach?

To cancel a registration, send an email to admin@programmescoyote.ca. A $50 administrative fee applies to each cancellation. If you cancel 8 or more days before the program starts, we'll refund what you paid minus $50. If you cancel 7 days or fewer before the start, we keep 25% of the full program price plus the $50 fee, and refund the rest. After the program begins, a refund is only possible if your spot is filled, and only for the remaining portion.

What is your cancellation policy?

Violent, aggressive, malicious, or dangerous behaviour will not be tolerated. To protect participants and our team, a child may be excluded without a refund if the situation does not improve.

What happens if a child behaves dangerously?

There is always a contact person reachable during our programs. Their contact information is in the welcome document sent before the program begins.

How can I reach you during a program?

Yes. For family programs, having a parent or family present is part of the experience.

Do parents take part in the family programs?

We ask every participant to show respect for Indigenous cultures and all other cultures. Stereotypes, disrespect, or sharing cultural content without permission may result in exclusion from the program.

What are your expectations around cultural respect?

Yes. Nature activities carry inherent risks. Our team maintains a safety framework, clear procedures, and ongoing risk management. By participating — or registering your child — you acknowledge these risks and agree to follow safety guidelines and team instructions.

Are there risks involved in nature activities?

In rare circumstances, a program may be cancelled or modified — for example, due to low enrollment, a guide's illness, or circumstances beyond our control. In that case, a refund for the cancelled days will be offered. A make-up date may also be proposed.

What happens if Programmes Coyote cancels or changes a program?

Our programs are built around deep nature immersion, small groups, and a close relationship with our guides. This approach allows for more attention, more connection, and support tailored to the group.

What makes Programmes Coyote different?

Generally, a child is ready when they feel confident enough to be with us without a parent. For some younger age groups, a transition period may be possible.

How do I know if my child is ready for a program without a parent?

Yes. Being outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions is part of the experience. A day may be cancelled in the case of dangerous conditions (severe storms, extreme winds, risky travel conditions, etc.).

Do activities still happen when it rains?

Yes. We offer customized training for teams, schools, and other organizations. The possibilities depend on the group type, the objective, participants' ages, and team availability.

Do you offer customized training?

We offer customized training and school partnerships. Write to us if you'd like to discuss a workshop, a themed day, or a project tailored to your situation.

Do you offer workshops or training for schools?

After a day in nature, we recommend carefully checking your child's body and clothing. If you find a tick, remove it properly as soon as possible. You'll find more information in the welcome document sent before the program begins.

What should we do about ticks after a day outside?
