Finally! A chance to go deeper into wilderness living skills, traditional ecological knowledge, and unforgettable outdoor adventures—alongside youth who share the same passions. Each day blends attention games, active challenges, music-making, hands-on crafting, and plenty of time dedicated to strengthening our outdoor skills.
Teens will :
- Complete a wood-carving project
- Practice different fire-starting methods
- Learn essential knots to set up strong tarp shelters
- Practice sit spots and build ecological literacy
- Develop navigation skills, with and without a compass
- Try traditional crafts: willow basketry, leatherwork, and more
- On Thursdays, the group will take the bus to Jardins Carya to take part in a community service project and spend time exploring the forest.
This program is for teens who are passionate about nature, motivated by hands-on skills, and interested in developing leadership. After this week, you’ll have made meaningful progress and you’ll be an asset to any outdoor education team or camp. Reference letters can also be provided upon request.
Participants may apply to volunteer in our summer camps as “Leaders in Training,” receiving an honorarium of $100–$150 per week of volunteering.

Youth Leadership - Summer Camp
This camp is for teens who want to take their wilderness skills and leadership to the next level. Over one week, youth learn how to lead a group, set up shelters, build fires, read the landscape, and work as a team. A camp to grow as a person… and as an outdoor leader.
